French
Learners are first individually welcomed then oriented with method :
-Test and evaluation (written and oral comprehension and expression)
-Orientation towards a socio-linguistic workshop (ASL) or a FLE course
-Registration for additional workshop
-Sign up for full participation and AFI rules
Socio-linguistic workshops
Courses are designed for a public who have had little or no school education in their country.
At the beginning of the year the level of each participant will be assessed, and a specific program
defined according to his objectives.
These workshops aim to make learners autonomous in the public space : for example
Post Office, public transport, school, hospital, administrations, market and supermarket.
The workshops begin with alphabet and basic french, then reading (at levels 1 and 2).
At levels 3 and 4, participants are able to read timetables, schedules, simple instructions, and to write short texts.
French as a Foreign Language (FLE) courses
Intended for people who do not speak or write French, but who have been educated in
their country of origin.
Teaching complies with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference),
for Languages from level A1.1 to level B1.
They develop the 4 major skills: written and oral comprehension, written and oral production.
It is organised around 4 workshops :
- A1 and A2 to meet simple and concrete communication needs in daily life
- B1.1 and B 1.2 to get around in most situations.
The 1h30 lessons are given by level, from October to June, outside school holidays :
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays
from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
